Leviathan Resources (Mining) |
Mark Mitchell General Manager
Stawell Gold Mines
"In August 2005 Leviathan Resources agreed to Sydney Consulting
conducting a review of the management operating systems of the Stawell
Gold Mine.
This review identified opportunities for improvement in the way the
existing management systems and controls were being maintained and
executed. Accordingly, Leviathan Resources agreed to engage Sydney
Consulting to conduct an implementation project at Stawell Gold Mine
covering the following operational areas:
- Underground mining
- Maintenance
- Mill operations
The project commenced on the 12th September 2005 with planned duration of 24 calendar weeks (equivalent to 130 man weeks).
The expected benefit of the implementation project was to increase
mined and milled tonnes by 25% over historical performance from the
same fixed cost base. At present we are seeing a 17% increase in ore
mined and a 20% increase in ore treated. These improvements are
expected to incrementally increase in the coming months.
As a result of the implementation project Stawell Gold Mine now has
systems that focus on ensuring accountability for the delivery for
planned outputs with better informed and more capable leaders managing
the day to day operation of the business.
Sydney Consulting have brought their expertise to bear in achieving
these outcomes. Their experience, dedication and diligence have been
essential to the success of the project.
I thank you for your assistance and I would certainly consider your organisation again if the need presented itself."
